GUITAR SETUPS:

What is a guitar setup?

Wood changes with time as well as temperature and humidity. The changing of the seasons can be very hard on guitars, especially in the winter. Furnaces create a dry environment, which can dehydrate your guitar. Proper humidification and regular maintenance will ensure long term playability and help you avoid many of the common issues that can arise over time.

A setup will fine tune your guitars overall playability by making the proper adjustments to the neck, saddle and bridge. Your technician will check string height, examine the condition of the nut and saddle, frets and electronics, as well as moisturize your fretboard and install new strings.

Think of it as an oil change for your guitar!

FRETWORK

Fret end dressing: When a fretboard dries out, fret ends become sharp and protrude from the edge of the fretboard. A fret end dressing includes filing and polishing of all frets and will have your guitar playing comfortably once again.

Fret level and recrown: Frets can shift over time due to changes in humidity. This can cause string buzz. A fret level and recrown will address this issue.
